‘Constriction’

This sculpture speaks of feeling confined & restricted by others, a hand that could support but instead, constricts. Sometimes I feel I confine myself & I don’t reach out for support as I’ve experienced like many others, abuse of power, position & trust.

So I sit in my constraint & I untangle myself until I feel free to walk on unencumbered. Life for me has be a journey of many emotions & physical experiences & this piece shows how I feel physically most days upon waking & trying to get my body to move & get flowing & going.
